A Trip In Glory Land
And Mount Zion was just before
The prophet in vision said,
And the Temple with shining door
Its glories about us shed;
  **************
All about rose hills of beauty
On which roses and lilies grew,
For, to rejoice the heart and eye
Wondrous cheeks, of the grandest hue.
  **************
We saw the lion and leopard,
And we saw the lamb and the wolf,
For no more that country is marred
By the ravenous bloody hoof.
   **************
We pass through the field to the wood,
T’was not dark and dismal as here,
With brightness and light all was good
In that country where all is cheer.
   ***************
All dwell safe in that wilderness
Amongst those branches we may sleep.
Fain would that harassed prophetess
Lain down in that forest so deep.
   ***************
But safely we pass through the woods
And we meet there another group
And who at frequent interludes
With praise and thanks would stoop.
   ***************
They having crowns and robes of white
They who Christ says for him were slain,
They wee ones climb or take a flight
And fragrant lilies would regain.
   ***************
These babies small were martyrs true
For they with others red display
As we behold this retinue
We gladly thanks and praise convey.
     **************
Near the Temple grew fruit and flowers
The myrtle, box and fir and pine
And neath these clustered fragrant flowers
Our table set with all these fine.
   ***************
There Jesus waits, and saints may eat,
On silver table miles in length,
A feast with luscious things replete;
To perfect us and give us strength.
